The Barrel

A symmetric, softly rounded form with a flat-cut top, raised on a ridged turned-wood base with an alabaster collar beneath. The wide banding usually carries one dominant circular inclusion — the stone's own eye.

Hand-carved from a single block of Egyptian alabaster. The banding is never symmetric even where the silhouette is, so each piece reads differently.
