If you want to know how a particular piece looks lit, how heavy it is, or whether the banding runs the way you want it to, ask before you order. Every block of stone is different, so we can photograph the actual piece you would receive.

Stock is held here, not in Egypt. Orders are picked off a shelf in Amsterdam and posted from here, so delivery takes days rather than weeks and there is no customs charge anywhere in the EU.

Before you ask
The stone is not what most people think it is. What the trade calls Egyptian alabaster is calcite, a banded travertine, not the gypsum that the word alabaster normally means. The lamps stand on a turned pine base; the stone body above it is carved from a single block. We wrote about the difference in what Egyptian alabaster actually is.
